Todd Anthony Joos and the Revelators: Press

Todd Anthony Joos And The Revelators' New Cd 'Lukewarm' Is Smoking Hot!

New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Mindsweep Entertainment & Promotions) - Everyone agrees as consumers I'm sure, that when 'words' connected to, or representing any product's marketing that implies something about a product that OVERSTATES the truth about that product's actual quality, effectiveness or greatness is considered a rotten, deceptive, unappreciated, and downright maddening practice that occurs all to often in every market today.

Well, though it's an extremely rare occurrence, what would you call a product that the words attached to that product's marketing and/or labeling actually UNDERSTATES the true quality, greatness, viability and positive effects of a product? Myself, I would consider that to be a surprising outstanding product that delivers much more than expected, that would definitely keep me coming back for more, time and time again! Recently I discovered that such is exactly the case with Todd Anthony Joos and The Revelators' brand new CD that is titled "Lukewarm", which is in fact, nothing short of a red hot smoker of a CD, and even that is an extreme understatement!

In all actuality, Todd Anthony Joos and The Revelators latest CD, "Lukewarm", (which is the band's second, and was officially released September 7th, 2010, under the record label of Tate Music Group with distribution by E1 Entertainment), not only rates quite high as one of THE BEST rock albums that I have heard this year, it also rates as THE BEST Christian album that I have heard this year in several categories.
(...And trust me, being the Vice President of Mindsweep Entertainment & Promotions and holding a second executive position as Manager of the Florida Office of the esteemed T&T Management & Booking Agency, I hear a whole lot of CD's in every possible genre and sub genre imaginable.)

Because of an exceedingly rich amount of versatility exhibited by Todd Anthony Joos and The Revelators on this album, as well as the excellence in songwriting and mastery of musicianship demonstrated on this album, just about every track off of this outstanding CD could easily rate high on the charts, and gain dominance in airplay requests on mainstream, internet and college Christian radio stations ranging in all formats from contemporary Christian, adult contemporary Christian, and Christian rock. And I dare say, that if rock and roll radio stations would abandon their (alleged), 'political correctness' taboos and gave airplay to deserving smoking hot rockers that just so happen to have lyrical content that relates to their Christian and/or other religious beliefs, they may even find they gain a higher ratio of listeners and find that they are not really offending too many people in their listening audiences by doing so. In fact, in the case of radio airplay of Todd Anthony Joos and The Revelators sizzling new CD "Lukewarm", I can almost guarantee it!

Two historic examples of this is the rock classic "Spirit in the Sky", which was written and originally recorded and released by Norman Greenbaum in 1969. This song, which is now and has long since been considered a rock classic, reached the number three position on the U.S. Billboard Charts, and ranked as number one on the UK, Australian and Canadian charts in 1970. "Spirit in the Sky" incidentally, was also rated by Rolling Stone Magazine as No 333 on their list of The Top 500 Greatest Songs of All Time; which is a pretty impressive and prestigious title to achieve for a song of ANY genre. The second example of this is the classic rock hit "Jesus is Just Alright", which was written by Arthur Reid Reynolds, though perhaps made most famous when recorded and released by The Doobie Brothers in 1972, and subsequently became a major hit going on to rank at No 35 on the Billboard Charts. Both of these songs, with very clear religious and/or Christian references are classic rock staples to this day.

If rock radio stations were bold enough to abandon the 'politically correct' taboo of not giving airplay to songs that contain references of certain Christian and/or religious beliefs in a band's lyrical content, I have no doubt that several tracks off of Todd Anthony Joos and The Revelators' latest CD release "Lukewarm", would also dominate the request lines on rock stations everywhere as well; and go on to rank quite high on Billboard's Top 40 and/or Hot 100 Rock Charts, and have all it takes and more when it comes to great musicianship to go on to become the latest of rock's classic hits as well. With just one listen to those tracks, I'm sure connoisseurs of great rock n' roll everywhere will agree.
Those tracks are:

Track 1- "The Bride". Please know, not to take a thing Todd Anthony Joos and The Revelators' creativity or originality at all, as they certainly have plenty of that to burn, but if one had to compare them to other renowned and/or legendary performers of rock, I would have to say in this song, they remind me a little of being in the vein of Nazareth meets Grand Funk Railroad meets Rainbow, for some lead footed, heavy duty and extra crunchy guitar and groove laden Gospel rock. ...Great stuff no doubt!

Track 4- "Lukewarm", the title track off of this sizzling CD, could easily take the hill on the rock charts, because of all of the reasons mentioned above, with perhaps an added classic T-Rex reminiscent guitar groove to that mix, only with a more contemporary and progressive rock sound.

Track 7- "The Devil", which is actually my favorite and most recommended track on the entire CD, is, pardon the pun, hotter than Lower South Hell itself, and will sure fire rock you right out of your seat and on to your feet with a profound quickness. Matter of fact, I double dawg dare rock stations everywhere to play this song just one time during their prime listening hours, and just see if your phones don't ring off the hook with further requests for this song! ...Seriously.

Track 9- "Not Enough", just when you think you may have Todd Anthony and The Revelators' signature sound pinned down, they will knock you out with their blazing track "Not Enough"; which if one had to describe them in a comparison to other world class rockers, this song would be something like 38 Special meets Head East, meets Alice Cooper, meets The James Gang in a super tight rock revival, with plenty of twists and turns, and with super slick maneuvering in all of the transitions.

Fans, music industry execs and radio stations alike can take a listen to all tracks from this CD for themselves, gain info and more by visiting, (the "Music" page at), Cellar Records' website at http://www.cellarrecords.com/; or at Cellar Records' Myspace site at http://www.myspace.com/cellarrecords ; and/or at the band's official MySpace site at http://www.myspace.com/toddanthonyjoos where downloads are also available. Radio stations that would like to download tracks from this CD can visit Radiosubmit.com at the link below, http://www.radiosubmit.com/rs/toddanthonyjoosandtherevelators/, or get in touch at Cellar Records, and I'm sure they would be glad to hook you up.

After listening to the suggested tracks above, (which we already know you're going to be thoroughly well rocked by them), be sure to further check out the immense amount of versatility of this great band also possesses by taking a listen to the equally as excellent, but totally contrasting tracks "Tired", "All of Your Life", and "And I".
In these tracks, Todd Anthony Joos and The Revelators delivers just as high caliber of outstanding musical prowess, (by all members of this great band); yet exhibits an exceeding amount of both their prowess and versatility further with masterful performances in the sub genres of contemporary Christian, and even adult contemporary Christian. With just one listen, Todd Anthony Joos and The Revelators quickly prove evident that they indeed have what it takes to easily rise to the top of the charts and dominate the radio airwaves in those (sub) genres and formats as well with those tracks from this CD.

Their musical influences include: Larry Norman, Keith Green, Blackfoot, The Allman Brothers Band, Dickey Betts, Queen, Van Halen, John Mellencamp, Guns & Roses, Chris Tomlin, Steven Curtis Chapman, Eric Clapton, Cream, Led Zeppelin, James Elmore, Zakk Wylde, Aerosmith, Robert Cray, Billy Joel, Mark Farner, (and Grand Funk Railroad), Lou Graham, (and Foreigner), Chuck Negron, Credence Clearwater Revival, James Taylor, Rainbow, Pat Travers, Jeff Beck, Blind Boys of Alabama, Robert Randolph and The Family Band, and Ben Harper amongst others.
(...Which certainly explains the band's vast amount of versatility.)

Todd Anthony Joos and The Revelators' brand new CD, "Lukewarm" is available for purchase now at iTunes, Amazon, and other online purchasing outlets as they come aboard, in select record stores, (in which Todd Anthony Joos and The Revelators are doing series of "in-store" publicity tour performances); and of course, at all of Todd Anthony Joos and The Revelators' upcoming live performances and concert dates.

Speaking of concert dates, Todd Anthony Joos and The Revelators are currently gearing up and accepting dates from esteemed concert and festival promoters as well as for Christian events everywhere for their upcoming 2011 US and world tour. Todd Anthony Joos and The Revelators has expressed that they would welcome, appreciate and relish the opportunity to perform for fans all across the United States as well as in such countries and regions as England, Ireland, Scotland, France, Germany, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Italy, Greece, The Czech Republic, (pretty much most all of Europe).
Japan, Thailand and Russia are amongst some of the most desired Asian destinations in which they would greatly appreciate performing. Concert dates in Australia would also be an immense pleasure; as well as Mexico, Brazil, the Caribbean and Canada amongst others that are also high on their list of desired performance destinations. Todd Anthony Joos and The Revelators would be honored in fact, to perform and deliver 'The Good News' and great music anywhere and everywhere that their fans demand both nationally and worldwide.

And though Todd Anthony Joos and The Revelators are not officially signed to the roster of T&T Management & Booking Agency's elite roster of world renowned performers, (quite yet anyway), we at the Florida Office of T&T will certainly recommend and suggest Todd Anthony Joos and The Revelators as special guests to perform with the best of both T&T's legendary rockers and well as the best of Christian artists on their roster; and certainly highly recommend them for any major Christian event or festival.

In closing, the message of Todd Anthony Joos and The Revelators' music is even more powerful than their excellence in musicianship, which is unquestionably considerable. Their passion for performing outstanding music is only exceeded by their passion and drive in delivering a very strong message of hope and a lasting positive impact to the lives of their listeners and fans both nationally and worldwide, through Christ's own message, promises and of His coming return. With this said, and considering both the high quality of musicianship on this CD, as well as the greatness, viability and lasting positive effects of the message within Todd Anthony Joos and The Revelators' musical product, it is safe to say that the title "Lukewarm" is one prime example of a that rare understatement in relation to 'words' connected to labeling and marketing of one surprisingly outstanding (musical) product, that does in fact deliver much more than expected, and that has certainly kept all of us at Mindsweep Entertainment & Promotions coming back for more ever since. Bravo, kudos and congrats to Todd Anthony Joos and The Revelators for the release of "Lukewarm" which is indeed one smoking hot CD!

This album (Lukewarm) is awesome! It has a great mixture of sound. The arrangement is great. I was also told that if you listen to it from track 1 to 10 it tells a story and it does. In my opinion this is an indie group to watch.

I first found out about this band over a year ago when I seen them live in Bloomington IL. They were just back less than a month ago but I was out of town and missed that concert. From what my friends that went this time told me, I missed out. They said that the revelators were rocking and full of fire for the Lord! When I seen them a year ago I bought their Sundays at Church CD and I've been listening to it until I think it's just about worn out (if that's possible.) The thing I liked about Todd's music is that he isn't afraid to tell the truth about the hypocrisy that goes on with Christian people. You're not going to hear his music on the traditional Christian radio stations because those stations are too concerned with raising money in order to keep their good thing going. That's why all you here is the same 20 songs over and over and they are never gonna push the boundaries by playing music that challenges the listener to check themselves spiritually. That just wouldn't be "positive or encouraging" enough.. wink, wink...
Since I missed the recent concert I didn't get a chance to pick up the new CD Lukewarm. I didn't know they had a new one until my friends told me about it. So I got it here on iTunes and it is awesome!!! My favorite song on the album is Tired. But really they are all great! I hope they come back to my area soon. I am going for sure!

I went to a live concert at The Refuge Rock in Cedar Rapids Iowa last week featuring "Todd Anthony Joos and his band the Revelators". They were outstanding! They are the real deal. I've seen many live Christian concerts and a lot of them are major label national touring Christian acts. Very few of them are as good with their music as these guys were. Plus the message that came from Todd Anthony Joos was obviously anointed by God. I was so blessed and impressed that I bought this CD Sundays at Church. Let me tell you, IT ROCKS!! It has not left my CD player in the car for over a week now. I can't wait to see Todd and his band live again!

People, you really need to get this album!! The thing I like best about Todd Anthony Joos is that his music is real and he's not afraid to tell it like it is. Just listen to the title cut "Sundays at Church" and you will hear something that most of us that have gone through when it comes to our relationships with other Christians. The Chorus says it all, "and all the tears I cry are drops of pain flowing into a river of doubt. But still they push and persecute me. We're all Gods children, made from the Fathers hands. I wish you'd see I'm just a child of the Lamb." Then in the song "Faith" the second verse starts out with, "Sometimes the church is cold lonely place full of evil. And it's only through God's devine grace that we can keep climbing up these hills. So rise to your feet raise your hands to the Lord put real meaning behind the words that you say. And reach out to your sisters and brothers. Hold them up with the words that you pray." So again, you really need to get this

I am always on the lookout for better choices I can make when it comes to music and entertainment. The internet has been a big help in this process. There are a lot of Christian artist out there that I would not know about if it wasn't for the web. Really that's a shame, but that's a topic for a much longer post. So I found this guy Todd Anthony Joos on Myspace. I sent him a note and told him how much I enjoyed his music. I didn't figure he would even respond. Most of the time the artist that are on myspace never do. I think many of those sites are run by fans or record co.'s. So to my surprise he wrote me back and he was really cool. I've bought music through Cdbaby before but he told me his page wasn't up yet so I bought the album through his Snowcap store. Let me just say this guy has a sound just like the description claims here on cdbaby. This album is one of the best releases I have purchased in a long, long time.

Sundays at Church is hard-hitting, relevant music that goes straight to the heart of today's committed Christian. The musical range of the album is broad, with shades of everything from grunge to gospel included on the 10 cuts. The range of the messages is solid theology here, too. The title cut expresses anger and frustration at the pettiness and worldly distraction of the modern church while Wash Me in the Blood of Jesus, perhaps the breakout hit of the album, pleads the cry of every broken and contrite sinner to Christ. It's the song you'll find yourself humming in the shower and singing in the car for years to come.

Caught these guys in concert and picked up the CD. The CD is great! The live show was off the hook!!! They finished the night with the song Lukewarm and my words alone can not describe the energy in the room. YES, buy the album and catch them live too!

This a cutting edge album (Sundays at Church) with heart felt lyrics. It will bring you on a trip of thoughts and reflection of how Christians and the church body acts.
